Interested in the Juiced Bikes Crosscurrent range, but a little confused about the differences between the model X and S? and no the

In essence, these two bikes are rather similar and they offer some fantastic specs in a medium price range.

In this article we'll do a side by side comparison of the bikes so you can decide which bike is the one for you!

The price difference shouldn’t be much of a deciding factor, since the S2 costs $1,799, while the CrossCurrent X prices a little higher at $2,099. Of course, the X Juiced bike offers stronger specs for a higher price.

The Class-3 bicycles are no trouble according to the law, so you needn’t worry about violations of any kind.

The CrossCurrent bestsellers give off a sporty vibe, which is justified with the power and the specs - making them one of the hottest products on the e-bike market right now.

Frame

CrossCurrent bestsellers have a sporty demeanor due to their athletic frame with flat handlebars - with an enhanced, perfected design.

You have a good display and control with an overall standard assembly. The comfort is non-negotiable with larger, 700c wheels and a gel seat - a characteristic of both electric vehicles.

Gear shifter

When we’re talking about gears, there is a slight difference between the two bad boys. Shimano 9 speed cassette drivetrain transmission is combined with 8 speeds on the S2 model, and 9 speeds on the CrossCurrent X.

This is just one of the reasons to justify the higher price of the X model - since you can use the bike more efficiently energy-wise.

Engine

Each bike has a strong, 750W Bafang geared hub motor, which allows the bike to reach the top speed of 28 miles when using assisted power. When using motor power alone, they can reach a speed of around 20 mph.

The speed is ideal for daily commutes since the thumb-activated throttle helps you speed up in mere milliseconds. Additionally, the X model has a back rack, making it a better choice for those carrying a briefcase each morning.

Battery

When we’re talking about the battery range, the CrossCurrent X goes the extra mile literally. While the CrossCurrent S2 can go for 65+ miles until it needs a charger, the X can go for 80+ miles.

Of course, this means that the CrossCurrent X is heavier, and it weighs full 5 pounds more than the 60-pound S2.

Brakes

The price of these bikes is in no way affordable, but it’s not the high-end range, either. The specs offer more than the price, that’s for certain! The 180 mm hydraulic disc brakes offer safety and precision - which is something necessary for daily rides around town.

The brakes are the best on the market right now, so you know you’re not investing in a decent bike, but a great one at that.

Key features

One of the things that we consider to be the best part of these bikes is the user-friendly LCD.

Here, you can check out the current temperature outside, the battery indicator, but you can also choose a level of motor assistance. There isn’t much else on the display, but that’s fine considering the price tag.

There are six available levels: 0, 1, 2, 3, Eco, Sport, and Race. Sport and Race modes are something every commuter will appreciate. These modes offer you fast reactions when you’re strolling the streets during rush hour.

These two bikes offer safety and comfort, due to a gel seat, hydraulic disc brakes, and large 700c wheels. The suspension fork on the CrossCurrent X may offer some extra comfort compared to the S2, though.

The Eco mode is also something worth noting as a key feature. Using Eco mode will save the bike juice and give you up to 15 extra miles of range - so you’re never out of power!

The bikes are sporty-looking, with sporty specs. The only fun thing about the appearance is that the X model can be chosen in three different colors: white, red, and black, while the S2 is available only in black.

The powerful battery is placed in the down tube of the sturdy frame. When you place the battery properly, it will be locked to the frame - ensuring the safety of the key components.

The battery has a power button which needs to be on before you turn on the bike on the handlebars. The 5-7 hours charge time may be a little over the top, but it could be enhanced by investing in a fast charger, which needs 2.5 hours for a full charge.

Conclusion

crosscurrent x review

To conclude, what is the reason for buying this bike? Well, if you’re looking for an electric bike that does more than a budget-friendly one, CrossCurrent has two competitive models.

The CrossCurrent S2 won 4 stars out of five with its fantastic 28 mph top speed. On the other hand, CrossCurrent can match that and offer more for a couple of hundred dollars more - hence, the 4,5 stars!

The bikes don’t hide under the sporty appearance with low-grade specs. The specs speak for themselves, like the large range and hydraulic disc brakes!

The only concrete-solid flaw of these e-bikes would be the charge time of five to seven hours.

Luckily, it’s not the end of the world as the Juiced Bikes offer a fast charger for an extra price. All in all, great two bikes - there’s no doubt about it!
