The Kingbull Literider 2.0 enters the market as a follow-up to the brand’s best-selling folding e-bike, and it doesn’t disappoint. Priced from $999 it keeps the wallet-friendly appeal of the original while offering key upgrades that significantly improve real-world performance. With a 750W motor, improved battery range, and a more refined frame, the Literider 2.0 looks to solidify its spot in the competitive budget folding e-bike segment. But does it live up to the hype from Kingbull?

The Literider 2.0 keeps the 20”x4” fat-tire folding frame, but Kingbull has made some important tweaks that improve both aesthetics and safety. The frame has been rounded off, giving it a more polished look while improving rider comfort during mounting and folding. Perhaps most significantly, cables are now internally routed, solving a frequent issue on many folding bikes where exposed cables can snag, wear out, or suffer from poor durability.

The bike maintains a folding mid-frame hinge and collapsible handlebars, which makes it viable for RVers, commuters, or those in smaller living spaces. However, this isn’t a featherweight—at 71 lbs, the Literider 2.0 still feels heavy to carry up stairs or lift into a trunk, especially compared to lighter commuter folders.

Design-wise, it’s a utilitarian bike with a slight facelift. The new Purple color adds some style to the lineup, now totaling four choices. While it won’t win design awards, the build feels robust and suited for off-road or urban riding alike.

Motor & Performance

This is where the Literider 2.0 shines. Upgraded from the original’s motor, the new 750W BAFANG(GD) rear hub motor delivers 85Nm of torque, which is substantial for a folding bike. Riders will feel confident tackling 30° inclines, and throttle acceleration is snappy and responsive—even with a heavy rider or loaded rack.

The motor supports Class 3 speeds (up to 28 MPH) with pedal assist, and Kingbull includes a thumb throttle for those who prefer to coast. While the official top speed is capped at 28 MPH, some tests at the Long Beach Electrify Expo showed it hitting 33 MPH, which is impressive for a foldable model.

Power delivery is smooth, and the five levels of PAS (Pedal Assist System) give riders plenty of flexibility for hills, cruising, or city traffic. Along with 7-speed shimano gearing, it is more than adequate for most of our reader's needs.

Battery & Range

Range is often a weak point for folding e-bikes, but Kingbull has made smart improvements here. Thanks to upgraded battery management, the Literider 2.0 now boasts a real-world range of up to 60 miles, which is about 10 miles more than its predecessor.

The battery is 48V, and although the exact amp-hour rating isn’t listed in the press release, users can expect solid range at mid-level PAS. Throttle-only range will likely be closer to 25–35 miles depending on terrain and rider weight.

The removable battery is conveniently housed within the frame and takes around 5–6 hours to fully charge. This makes it a practical choice for daily commuting or weekend exploration, though it may fall short for ultra-long-distance riders who want 70+ mile support without charging.

Brakes & Gearing

The Literider 2.0 features hydraulic disc brakes, a welcome inclusion at this price. In wet or dry conditions, these brakes provide far superior stopping power compared to mechanical alternatives, especially on a 71 lb fat-tire e-bike. For riders commuting in traffic or hitting trails, this adds a big layer of confidence.

In terms of gearing, the Literider 2.0 features a 7-speed Shimano SL-TX50-7R shifter, paired with a standard 7-speed cassette. This is a welcome confirmation, as it significantly improves the bike’s versatility over a single-speed setup. Riders can shift into lower gears for steep climbs or higher gears for efficient pedaling at speed. Combined with the powerful motor and pedal assist system, this gearing setup ensures a more active and customizable riding experience.

While the SL-TX50 is an entry-level shifter and may not be as crisp or durable as Shimano’s higher-end offerings, it's reliable enough for most recreational and commuter use—and it helps keep the overall price down.

Display, Controls & Features

The Literider 2.0 comes with a full color LCD display, showing speed, PAS level, battery status, and distance. It’s easy to read and mounted centrally for visibility. While not flashy, it gets the job done for a budget-conscious model.

Controls include a responsive twist throttle, and the PAS system can be toggled between five levels. This gives riders excellent versatility between pure throttle cruising and pedal-supported riding.

Other features include:

  • 50mm front suspension fork, which smooths out bumps and urban terrain.

  • 20” x 4” CST fat tires, puncture-resistant and versatile for sand, snow, gravel, or pavement.

  • Folding pedals and an integrated rear rack, ideal for panniers or cargo.

  • Integrated lights for improved visibility.

These features make the Literider 2.0 not only commuter-friendly but trail-capable too.

Final Verdict: Is the Kingbull Literider 2.0 Worth It?

If you're looking for a high-powered fat tire e-bike that can handle any terrain, the Literider 2.0 is a top contender. It delivers speed, range, and comfort, making it an excellent choice for thrill-seekers and long-distance riders alike.

However, its hefty weight and lack of rear suspension might not make it ideal for everyone. But if you need a powerful, rugged, and versatile e-bike, the Literider 2.0 is absolutely worth considering.
