Our Overall Winner - Aventon Pace 350W Step-through
Ok, I know I chose a bike that comes in at just over $1000 as the winner of this review, but seriously, the Aventon Pace 350 is leagues above the other ebikes in this review. After reading this mini review, and comparing the specs to the other bikes in this price range you will understand why...
The Aventon Pace 350 is a charming city bike that nicely combines style, comfort, and power to offer a pleasant riding experience. Unlike most e-cruisers with a speed cap of 20mph, it adds more oomph to your urban rendezvous with an extra 8mph, ensuring you’re never running behind schedule.
Powering the bike is a 350W rear hub motor with 500 watts of peak power. This can propel you to a top speed of 20mph, both via pedal-assist or throttle mode. With 5 different levels of pedal assist, you get a chance to customize your ride depending on the power in your legs.
Alternatively, you can use the throttle for a more laid-back experience, but note that this will only work when you complete a full revolution of the cranks. The easy-to-use control pad and throttle are conveniently positioned on the handlebar to allow for ready access while the display is backlit for effortless reading.
Backing the motor is a 417.6Wh lithium-ion battery with Samsung cells. This comes with enough juice to power your ride for between 25 and 40 miles depending on the pedal-assist level you’re using.
You’ll be impressed by the relaxed geometry of the Pace 350, which features nicely swept-back mid-riser handlebars with ergo grips and a wide, extra plush saddle to make for an upright and comfortable riding posture. The bike is also what’s known as a step-thru e-bike, which makes it easier for less flexible folks to get on and off the bike.
A large and easy-to-read LCD is mounted at the center of the frame, allowing you to set and control the different electronic components on the bike. It displays useful ride data like pedal-assist level, speed, range, distance covered, etc., and features a backlight for night reading.
2. Best Ultra Budget Commuter - Velowave Rad3
Velowave Rad3 electric road bike comes in 4 cool colors, matte black, orange, green, and space silver.

The bike weighs only 37.5 lbs, meaning you can easily carry it up and down stairs or take it to the subway.
This road e-bike is equipped with a Bafang 250W brushless motor, which can reach a maximum speed of 15mph and provides enough power to climb almost any hill with minimum effort.
The battery used in this e-bike is a 36V/6.4Ah Samsung cell battery, which offers a cruising range of about 30miles which should be more than enough to meet the needs of daily riding. The battery is concealed in the frame, meaning it gets better protection, a lighter appearance, and more space for a bottle.

The X500 Pro might have an entry-level price, but it certainly offers much more than that. The motor is where it all starts, and it’s one of the stars of the show.
The brushless motor with 500 Watts of power offers help with some of the most unforgiving terrains you’ll find yourself exploring.
Battery is another aspect where the X500 Pro shines in all its glory. The battery that BEZIOR opted for is a 48 Volt one with a charging time that’s manageable and a range that the competition can only dream of.
10.4 Amper hours gives you plenty of power and capacity to receive assistance from this platform for up to 100km, which is quite a lengthy ride.
It’s worth mentioning that the pure electric mode can provide you with up to 45km, and the power-assisted mode can get you up to 100 kilometers in range.
The X500 Pro adopts the ZOOM mechanical disc brakes. It features a dual system on both front and rear disc brakes, which allows for pretty smooth braking.
Extremely Portable - battery and frame together weigh 51 lbs.
The tire size for the BEZIOR X500 Pro is 26 * 1.95 inches. These tires are quite sturdy and durable while also providing the rider with amazing stability.
When talking about e-bikes, especially mountain and off-road e-bikes, the problem with tires is that they’re often made just for mountain biking or for commuting.
These tires can do both, and they can do it pretty well. In addition to their versatility, the tires on the X500 Pro have anti-skid and anti-vibration features, making them perfect for any type of terrain, especially in rural areas.
All in all this is a well-rounded e-bike. The fact that it’s foldable and can easily be transported by other means of transport from point A to point B is quite an awesome feature. Standing at 51lbs, it’s lightweight and not a hassle to move.
The X500 Pro provides you with stability and safety throughout lots of different terrain types, from mountain roads and gravel roads to smooth city streets, which are all nice options to have.

Best Electric Mountain Bike Under $1000
Designed to handle rough, uneven terrain that typical road bikes never could, the best electric mountain bikes have the added advantage of adding motor power and speed into the mix, as well.
So, whenever the terrain becomes too much for you to handle, you can rely on the bike’s motor to take over and drive you where you need to be.
1. eAhora XC100 Electric Mountain bike
If you’re in search of an electric bike under 1000 for both commuting and outdoor exercising, we recommend the eAhora XC100. This bike has a 350W brushless motor that is connected to the intelligent controller via E-PAS.
Thanks to the aluminum alloy frame, this e-bike weighs only 50lbs. Even though it is a lightweight bike, it can support up to 220lbs.
The power source of this electric bike is a 48V 10.4Ah Samsung lithium battery. The battery is removable and it offers powerful climbing and acceleration capabilities and assisted travel up to 50 miles with a single charge at top speed 22 mph. The battery is securely placed in a hidden battery case, ensuring nothing will happen to it in case of an accident.
Aside from that, another great feature is the Shimano 7 speed shifter and the M370 derailleurs that ensure accurate and smooth shifting. You can drive safely knowing that the short braking distance is ensured, and the brakes aren't bad as well.
eAhora electric bicycle is well equipped with front and rear Tektro mechanical Disc brakes. The cleverly placed thumb throttle is another safety feature because it doesn't compromise your grip when driving on bumpy terrain or during harsh weather conditions.
Innovative regenerative technology, providing extra range.
The user-friendly LED display is waterproof and password protected. There are three working modes to choose from: electric mode, PAS mode, and fitness mode. The electric mode is the best for long-distance travel, the PAS mode offers a personalized riding experience, and the fitness mode is ideal for exercising.
We really appreciated that E-PAS technology is also a regenerative technology. You can now ride over 15mph for a longer time thanks to the smart energy regeneration technology that charges the battery for 20% power as you ride. On top of that, the smart sensors will engage the system to charge up to 60% when no energy is being consumed (when you're going downhill).
You can ride comfortably while the suspension absorbers effectively filter out vibrations during bumpy rides. The mute function of the E-drive system effectively reduces noise during riding, and it is a welcome addition for all people who don’t like loud bikes.
However, there are a few things we thought were inconvenient. There's no water bottle holder, and the cables in the front could be organized better.

2. Yiilove 26'' Electric Mountain Bike
The Yiilove 26" electric mountain bike is equipped with all the right features that make it suitable for any kind of terrain, from smooth city streets to bumpy off-road hills and mountains. This mountain bike is among the top in this price range, and it's an ideal choice if you're new to mountain biking.
To be honest, the motor is not as powerful as we expected, especially considering you can find bikes with twice as powerful motors in the same price range. Nevertheless, the 250W brushless motor is still good enough to tackle many challenges.
This bike comes with a 36V 8Ah lithium battery. The battery is removable giving you the option to charge it both on and off the bike. You can reach the top speed of 13-18 mph, and under ideal conditions, it can go as far as 13-18 miles with a single charge.
Admittedly, it doesn't reach the same range as many other bikes (and the top speed is not as fast), but it's still quite good - keep in mind this is one of the most affordable electric mountain bikes out there.
A Worthy Contender For Top Position
There are three working modes you can choose from - the pure electric bike, assisted bicycle, and normal bike. The pure electric bike is the one to go with if you want to enjoy long-distance traveling without pedaling. There's also the option to choose the PAS mode. The pedal assist mode has three levels for customized riding experience. The smart LED display features battery power and gear indicator and it's placed on the 26" wheel.
One of the best features of this mountain bike is the classic Shimano 21 speed gear and top of the line front and rear brakes that together with the speed shifter guarantee reliable shifting and powerful braking.
This is a foldable mountain bike, and although its frame is constructed out of high-quality aluminum alloy, it's quite lightweight. The bike weighs 55lbs, and since it's foldable, it's convenient to carry and it doesn't take up much space. Plus, it's also comfortable thanks to the comfort shock absorption feature of the carbon steel front fork.
One downside of this affordable bike is that the pedals are surprisingly low-quality.

The drivetrain comprises out of an impressive 21-speed Shimano transmission system. Best Electric Cruiser Under $1000
Best suited for flat surfaces and lower speeds, cruisers are intended for casual settings, relaxing rides around town, running errands, or making your way around campus.
Combining this casual vibe with a battery-powered motor is what truly took things to the next level, though.
The Pace 350 is a great choice if you are looking to open up your biking possibilities with a battery-powered two-wheeler that won’t strain your budget. This simple-looking yet no-nonsense e-bike comes with a nice set of features to provide you with a fulfilling biking experience.
Designed with a diamond-aluminum frame, the bike delivers an optimal balance between weight and sturdiness. It tips the scale at only 46lbs but can support a maximum load of 250lbs. The frame also features a semi-integrated battery with all the cables concealed inside the downtube, which results in a clean and seamless look.
Meanwhile, the battery is equipped with a lock to help it stay intact during riding and starve off would-be thieves. Although the Pace 350 doesn’t come with fenders, the manufacturer included bosses on the fork and frame to let you mount fenders and a rack for a more urban-friendly ride.
A step-through frame design makes for easy mounting and dismounting while the handlebar features a 15-degree sweepback build to make for a comfortable riding posture. This is reinforced by ergonomic grips, as well as a wide and well-cushioned seat.
Included in the package is a 356V 2Amp fast charger that fully recharges the empty battery in 3-4 hours. Additionally, the Pace 350 rolls on a pair of large 27.5” x 2.2” Kenda tires that nicely absorb the shock on bumpy roads to keep you at ease throughout the way.
Overall, this bike will be a great option for anyone who enjoys a friendly ride with a slight injection of electric assistance. The motor offers you just enough boost to take the strain out of riding but the lightweight design of the bike implies you can comfortably ride it as a normal bike whenever you feel like putting in some work.
The only grievance is that the manufacturer chose to go with cadence sensors as opposed to torque sensors, which are generally more efficient for battery life. Furthermore, the rear hub motor means the bike can be slightly unstable on hilly climbs, especially when you’re not using the motor assistance.

- Motor: 350W Rear hub motor

2. RadMission Electric Metro Bike
Rad Power makes more affordable models, and RadMission is the most budget-friendly option of all. Associating this bike with subpar specs would be the worst mistake out there!
The first notable thing about this bike is how light it is. Weighing 50 pounds, RadMission weighs well under the industry standard of 70-80 pounds!
The Design
The first thing we can say about this bike is that the design is very simple. It’s designed to be an affordable commuter and to make the user’s life easier. RadMission is available in four color options: red, black, white, and grey.
The 6061 aluminum frame, rigid steel fork, durable rubber round grips, and an aluminum swept-back handlebar make RadMission very durable. Also, the 27.5” x 1.95” Kenda Kontact tires make the strolls around the city as comfortable as possible.
Specs
RadMission packs a slightly smaller motor than the Rad Power’s usual. Don’t let that bother you - with the 500W hub motor (instead of 750W), this Class-2 bike can still easily reach 20mph with the twist throttle.
The drivetrain is a single-speed, so it’s super easy to ride, even if you’re just a beginner. Single-speed drivetrains also require little to no maintenance, which is also a plus.
The battery is slightly smaller - a 504 Wh instead of 674 Wh. The battery specs are 10.5Ah, 48V and they give you a mile range of 45 and more miles.
The control panel is very simple, with a small LED screen and few controls. The buttons on the panel are to switch between the pedal-assist modes and turn on lights. The flaw of the control panel is that you cannot check out battery life - so you have to plug it in based on your hunch.

3. NAKTO 26" 250W Electric Bicycle
Nothing beats an electric bike cruiser when it comes to casual rides around town, and with this model from NAKTO, a brand that delivers quality electric cruisers time and again, it can be a lot of fun, too.
The beautiful design, combined with user-friendly controls and top-notch mechanics make this one a treat to ride.
The steep, low-step frame lends it a somewhat old school feel, while also combining that signature retro vibe with quite a few sophisticated features.
Built around a high-strength carbon steel frame, this electric bicycle by NAKTO is the epitome of strength and durability. The frame does make it heavy, which requires some getting used to, but the bike’s ability to withstand not only long city commutes but some rough terrain, as well, makes it a worthy trade-off.
Both the handlebar and the saddle height and inclination can be customized to your preference, which is a plus, but the actual seat is on the narrower, firmer side, which could prove to be uncomfortable during longer rides.
The ebike features 6 gears with a Shimano transmission system, which may seem limited at first glance, but for a cruiser, it’s more than enough. The derail system operates flawlessly, and slides into gear with ease, too.
The brake system combines a standard V-brake that clamps the front wheel with a rear expansion brake, and overall perform well when it’s time to put a bike this heavy to a full stop.
All of the bike’s mechanics work hand in hand with a set of 26-inch wheels to give you accurate steering, quick acceleration, and a safe stop.
Behind the bike’s two working modes is a 250W brushless motor. It might not be the most powerful option you'll come across, but it’s more than enough for a smooth and surprisingly silent ride, with an average speed of 18 to 25 MPH.
The 36V/10AH lithium battery is easy to remove and charge. Considering that it holds its charge for up to 35 miles when used in pedal-assist mode, it’s fair to call it long-lasting, too.
Best Fat Tire Electric Bike Under $1000
When equipped with a suitable motor, the so-called “fat bikes,” with their extra-wide tires and sturdy construction, become virtually unstoppable.
They perform equally as good on challenging terrain as they do on city streets. That’s why getting a fat-tire electric bike means you're getting the best of both worlds.
1. NAKTO Electric Bicycle Fat Tire Mountain E-Bike
If we had to describe the NAKTO Electric Fat Tire Mountain Bike in three words, it would be fast, powerful, and comfortable.
It’s no surprise that, even at first glance, the NAKTO looks robust and reliable considering that it’s built like a tank. The high-strength carbon steel frame is tough enough to handle anything you throw its way. At the same time, its low-step frame design gives it a comfortable, user-friendly appearance.
As a result of this sturdy construction, it can easily carry riders weighing up to 220 pounds. And with the easily adjustable seat height, we’re confident that it could work for individuals who are over 6 feet tall, too.
The NAKTO operates in two modes, Assisted and E-Bike, with the former offering five different levels of operation. Combined with Shimano 6-speed transmission system, it allows for a smooth, comfortable ride on both flat roads, as well as steep terrain.
The bike is equipped with a pair of disc brakes, and while they’re far from ineffective, the stopping distance may be less than ideal safety-wise. You’ll undoubtedly have to put some force into it.
The front suspension forks feature shock absorbers, which, combined with the 26 by 4-inch fat tires, ensure a comfortable ride on rough terrain and increased gripping capabilities. Regardless of the surface, the bike always feels comfortable, stable, and safe. The bike also comes with lights for visibility.
The 36V, 10AH removable Lithium battery is the power source behind this bike’s powerful 300W brushless gear electric motor, giving you up to 35 miles of combined coverage on a full charge. Moreover, you can easily reach speeds of around 30MPH, and in full throttle mode, it does have that motorcycle feel to it.
There are far better options in the fat tire e-bike category, though, at least when it comes to handling all road and weather conditions.

2. Speedrid Fat Tire Electric Bike
If you need a powerful, stable, and comfortable electric bike in an affordable price range, Speedrid Fat Tire bike is the one for you. This bike has a 48V 500W high-speed brushless motor that gives it incredible hill-climbing capabilities, as well as mountain climbing, or just for a daily commute.
The battery is quite impressive as well. It's a 48V 10Ah battery that allows you to ride the bike up to 22 miles with a single charge at a top speed of 22-23 mph. The removable battery is a great security feature as it allows you to charge it on or off the e-bike, so you don't have to worry it might get stolen
The configuration makes it a reliable sidekick no matter what adventure you set out to have. The double-layer aluminum alloy frame combined with the front high-strength carbon steel fork gives it a sturdy construction, while the shock absorption feature provides a comfortable ride even on the bumpiest of roads.
Your safety is ensured as well. The mechanical front and rear brakes are very effective and the 7-speed professional transmission system makes sure that the braking distance is short.
This cost-effective electric bike has 26" 4.0 tires that combined with the shock absorption feature absorb bumps on any terrain, be it rail trails, gravel, city streets, back roads, or bike paths.
The overall design of this bike is cleverly thought out to give you a stable and powerful electric bike. The thumb throttle, the horn, and the light switch are placed on the handlebar so that they never deprive you of a firm grip. The LCD display is also found on the handlebar, opposite of the throttle. It shows you the speed, mileage, battery percentage, the three working modes: pedal-assistance, e-bike, and normal bike.
On the flip side, this e-bike is not as lightweight as you may want it to be. It weighs 60lbs, and it's not a foldable type, so lifting it is a bit of a drag. Other than that, we must admit we were impressed by the Speedrid Fat Tire e-bike.

Best E-Bike Kit Under $1000
Including a conversion kit into a round-up of the best electric bikes under $1000 may seem like an unconventional move on our part. However, it’s our way of saying that you have other options here.
If you already invested in a top-notch bicycle, you'll save quite a bit of money if you decide to go down the DIY conversion kit route, instead.
1. BAFANG BBS02B Electric Bike Conversion Kit
Bafang BBS02 conversion kit’s nearly universal compatibility lets you transform any regular bike into a mid-drive powerhouse. Its main advantage is that it keeps the weight of the battery and the motor low and centered.
So, as long as your current pedal bike has a standard 68 to 73 mm bottom bracket, you can count on this kit to turn it into a motorized one.
With the Bafang BBS02B, you’ll get a mid-drive 48V, 750W motor, a brake lever, a thumb throttle, a chain wheel and cover, a crank, a central LCD display, a speed sensor and a set of magnets, a 1-to-4 cable, a set of nuts, as well as a headlight.
No products found.
Weirdly, they decided not to include the 48V, 12AH/17.5AH battery and charger in the original kit, but you have the option to buy them separately, though.
The Bafang BBS02B boasts quick and easy installation, but it’s no different than other mid-drive motors, so, you still have to remove the bike’s bottom bracket. If you have no experience whatsoever with bicycle mechanics, doing the conversion yourself will probably take a bit more than an hour promised by the manufacturer.
The motor itself runs relatively smooth and quiet, and the 750W version certainly offers a significant power boost compared to the previous options. In full-power mode, it could easily reach speeds of anywhere between 30 and 35MPH, depending on the wheel size and chaining.
The driving force behind the motor is the 48V, 12AH/17.5AH battery mentioned earlier. Since the engine offers two riding modes, the battery’s coverage will vary based on the level of assist. That said, you can expect to get a good 25 miles minimum in E-Bike mode.
Although it has its limitations, it’s possibly the best electric bike kit under $1000.

What Are The Benefits Of Electric Bikes?
If you’re wondering whether or not electric bikes are worth the hype, here are a few noteworthy reasons why they’re worth giving a shot.
Eco-Friendly
Although they aren’t entirely pollution-free, out of all motorized means of transportation known to man, electric bikes are the ones that have a minimal environmental impact. With the rising issues of climate change and global warming, we should all make a conscious effort to minimize our impact as much as possible – and switching from a car to an electric bike could be the first step in that direction.
With a foldable e-bike, you can even take it along with you on a road trip, making your travels that much more efficient even with cargo...which just so happens to bring me to my next point:
Efficiency
Electric bikes have a definite edge over traditional ones – thanks to the integrated motor, they offer an option called battery-powered “pedal assist.” It does exactly what you think – give your pedaling a boost when you need to cover considerable distances or hills, but don’t want to overwork your muscles and joints.
Versatile
You can’t ignore the fact that a folding electric bicycle does come with a bit more versatility. Even with the motor attached, you can still use them in a more traditional, fitness-friendly manner by using the pedal. And when you need a viable daily driver, an electric bike still holds enough power to drive you to your destination on time. Some of the bikes also come with accessories like lights for night riding.
For more rugged, off-road electric bikes over $1000 please visit our hunting e-bikes list.
Plus you can store it away in your home, or take it along with you on a road trip without the hassle of installing a bike rack.
Conclusion
We hope that our reviews helped you in your search for the best electric bikes under $1000. At the very least, we hope we gave you a better idea of what the market has to offer right now.
Each of these electric bikes deserved a spot on our list, as they represent the best that their respective categories have to offer. In short, they’re all worth considering, so it’s up to you to decide what kind of electric bike you need and choose accordingly.
Of course, we couldn’t fit every single model in here. So, do you have any electric bike recommendations you’d like to share with us? Let us know in the comments below!
