In general, each Ride1UP electric bike comes with geared hub motors. What is so great about the geared hub motors is that they aren’t so heavy, and they climb hills easier than a gearless motor. The geared hub motor carries less torque, but it offers a better battery range - so it’s only natural that the commuter and city bikes come with this type of motor.
However, a gearless hub motor may be a bit more long-lasting than a geared hub motor, because it has fewer moving parts. Also, the geared hub motors come with regenerative braking, so the battery range is improved each time you step on the brake.
What Kind Of Battery Is Ride1UP Packing?
Like most e-bikes, all Ride1UP electric bikes come with premium lithium-ion batteries. The batteries in the Ride1UP are built into the frame, so the whole design looks great.

Rad Power is an e-bike company similar to Ride1UP. They offer budget-friendly vehicles, too - but let’s see the differences up close!
Controller
The Ride1UP e-bikes come with a hidden internal controller. The controller is typically located inside the frame - so it’s perfectly safe and less prone to mechanical damage.
Also, there are fewer cables you can damage if you accidentally snag them. However, Rad Power bikes come with an external controller that can get damaged pretty easily.
Ride1UP Offers Class-3 Bikes
Rad Power offers Class-2 bikes exclusively, while Ride1UP offers Class-2 and Class-3 bikes. Class-2 bikes have a speed limit of 20 miles per hour, while Class-3 can go up to 28 miles per hour in pedal-assist, or 20 miles per hour on throttle alone. So, Ride1UP is the ideal commuter bike, especially if you feel like you’re rushing to work each morning.
Charge Time
Charge time that is too long can make the whole e-bike experience a hassle. Rad Power bikes take over 5 hours to charge - while the Ride1UP bikes rarely take over 3-4 hours!

Ride1UP’s 700 Series is the company’s most popular, best-selling bike. However, that isn’t the only reason why this bike was our top choice - the components and the excellent quality are!
The 700 is a solid city and commuter bike. However, it’s not exactly often that you will run into an e-bike that comes with a 750-Watt motor with 60nM torque. Another pro is that this bike is astonishingly durable because of all the high-quality parts.
For a medium-range price, you get an electric ride that is so much more than just decent.
The reliability and the extreme comfort of the 700 series are partially thanks to the hydraulic disc brake. The 700 series e-bike is a Class-3 bike, meaning it can go up to 28 miles per hour with pedal-assist, and 20 miles per hour on throttle alone.
What is so great is that you can pick out one out of two frame types - Cross-Over or Step-Through. Also, the 700 comes with two color options - gunmetal gray and steel.
The integrated battery doesn’t only provide the bike with a seamless look, it provides the bike with a solid range of 30 to 50 miles. Most e-bikes in this range come with a much smaller range, so there’s that - and if you’re worried that the battery isn’t easy to remove, don’t be. The battery comes with two keys for super-easy removal.
What we didn’t like so much is that the bike weighed heavier than any other Ride1UP e-bike. That means the bike could be too heavy to carry up the stairs.
The 700 Series is a bike perfect for commuting thanks to the wide aluminum alloy fenders. Also, if you need to carry a bag with you, you can place it on the back rack that comes with a triple bungee strap and pannier rods.

The Prodigy comes in one color - matte black, which will look elegant and flush with your style, whatever it is. There are 3 types of frames you can choose from for your Prodigy - Cross-Over, Cross-Country, and Step-Through.
What is so special about this e-bike is that it’s packing a Brose TF Sprinter mid-drive motor. That’s why the Ride1UP Prodigy is a powerful, lightweight Class-3 bike, and it sports a top speed of 28 mph, like all bikes in this class.
The specs packing in the Ride1UP’s Prodigy go way over the price range, and we’re not talking about the motor alone.
What makes this electric ride so special is the four-piston hydraulic disc brakes and a 9-speed Shimano Alivio transmission. The high-quality brakes make the city ride extremely safe. What’s more, the Prodigy features Buchel LED lights in the front and back for the perfect vision in all situations.
Also, this bike is the perfect high-end commuter/city ride because it comes with a rear rack and a fender set. So, if you need to take anything heavier with you, just know that the Prodigy can do all the heavy lifting with the weight limit of 275 pounds!
Prodigy is packing a powerful 36V14ah Phylion BN21 battery with Samsung cells, which enable a battery range of up to 50 miles. Of course, the battery range depends on the amount of pedal assistance.
Like most Ride1UP bikes, the Prodigy comes with 9 levels of pedal assistance. The TFT display also has information about advanced features, and you can check out the battery status, which is pretty neat.
The only thing we didn’t like about the Prodigy is the rather long charge time - it can take up to 5 hours. So, compared to other bikes in this article that’s a pretty long time.

The Roadster v2 is one of the best rides the Ride1UP company has made, and an absolute winner of our affordable, budget-friendly category. For a rather small price for an electric bike, you get a great quality vehicle that ought to serve you well.
So, the Roadster v2 comes with a 36V 7.0ah Samsung 35e Cells battery. That battery offers a decent range of 20 to 35 miles - nothing too extravagant, but it’s to be expected with the price.
What is great is that you can choose the size of the frame - the small (52cm), and the large (58cm). Also, the Roadster is available in 3 matte colors - burgundy, black, and silver.
The design and clean lines make Roadster v2 look like your regular bike, and not an electric ride at all.
Another fantastic thing is that this e-bike weighs only 33 pounds, making it the lightest bike in our article. If you need to carry your bike often, the Roadster v2 is perfect for you.
However, the Roadster v2 comes with a 500w (peak) 350w (nominal) Geared Hub Shengyi motor, which is smaller and less powerful than most e-bikes. It’s still a Class-3 electric bike, but it has a top speed of 24 mph on pedal-assist.
The charge time is decent - it takes no more than 4 hours and no less than 2, which is fast enough to give you some juice if you are running low and are far away from home.
What we liked is that the bike is extremely comfortable, and the saddle is durable and comfy, much more than you would expect from an affordable e-bike. The only flaw is the lack of accessories like a back rack, which you may need to buy separately.

Ride1UP’s Core 5 is just one of the hit electric bicycles by this company. It falls more in the affordable range, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t bring a lot of cool features to the table.
The frame is a lightweight 6061 aluminum frame so it doesn’t add up much to the overall weight of the bike. The bike weighs 49 pounds, which is not too much if you have to carry it anywhere.
The battery is a 48V10.4ah Reention Eel Pro with LG Cells, and it’s located inside the frame, so the bike looks amazing. The ergonomic handles and the soft saddle will keep you comfortable even during longer rides.
This is a classic Class-3 electric bike, as it comes with the top speed of 28 mph on pedal-assist, and 20mph on full throttle.
